The Sky-Hy Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association is dedicated to the enrichment, empowerment and education of its members through our education committee.
In addition to educating its members, the Sky-Hy Chapter has awarded nearly $100,000.00 in local scholarship funds since its Charter in July 1970. The Scholarship program is one that is held very dear by its members and one that truly reaches out to the youth of our community. Through an application process, members of the Education committee meet once annually to review scholarship applications on a pre-determined scale. Those applicants who meet the criteria of the selection process will then go on to be evaluated based on their need, their educational accomplishments, and their goals and ambitions for the future.

2015 has brought a change to the criteria for scholarships.  Local scholarships will no longer be given.  HOWEVER, national scholarships will continue as they have since 1949!  Applicants must be in their junior year of college and above to qualify for a national scholarship.  Applicants will be "sponsored" by the local chapter.  Applications will be received and processed by the local chapter and channeled to the Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund at national headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas.

Education is an important piece of the American Business Women’s Association membership. The National educational arm; the “Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund” has awarded millions of dollars to further education of its members and those in need across the Country.
