The mission of the American Business Women’s Association is to bring together businesswomen of diverse backgrounds and to provide opportunities to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition. President's Message:
What is ABWA? The American Business Women's Association founded in 1949 and we are celebrating our 65th anniversary this year!! We have had 65 years of changing women's lives, one woman at a time! ABWA supports women throughout their careers by providing opportunities to hone leadership skills, access to unsurpassed professional development resources, and national recognition in the largest network of working women in the country. We are a sisterhood of women who work together to achieve personal and professional growth in a safe environment and to provide mentorship for the journey.
Since 1953, the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF) has been providing grants and scholarships to women pursuing both undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as ongoing professional development to support career advancement.
Chapter fundraisers are to provide scholarships to women in WNC in their first two years of college as well as continuing education for our chapter members.
